Some conversations leave a lasting impression — not because they’re loud, but because they’re deeply real. That’s exactly what happened when Dr. Cristal Speller joined Liza Boubari on Real Talk. In this heartfelt episode, they uncovered the power of whole-body healing, the science and spirit behind integrative medicine, and why we must look inward if we truly want to transform our health.
Root Cause Medicine
When we think of healing, we often think of relief from symptoms. But what if healing could mean more — transformation at the root? That’s the message Dr. Cristal Speller brought to her conversation with Liza Boubari on Real Talk, where she was joined by Christeil Gota, a client, colleague, and longtime friend of Liza.

Dr. Cristal Speller is a Stanford-educated physician with an MPH from UC Berkeley and a pediatric residency from Children’s Hospital Oakland. But her path took a meaningful turn. Early in her practice, she grew discouraged by what she saw in conventional pediatrics — the overuse of antibiotics, rigid vaccine schedules, and a tendency to treat symptoms rather than understand what was truly going on in a child’s life and body.
So she stepped back and listened — not just to her patients, but to her intuition.
Now serving as the Medical Director of Glendale Whole Health, Dr. Speller offers a wide array of treatments including IV nutrient therapy, peptide and ozone therapy, and bio-identical hormone balancing. But at the heart of her work is root-cause medicine — the belief that healing begins when we look beneath the surface.
“We don’t just treat lab results,” she said. “We treat the human being behind them.”
That means understanding how lifestyle, emotional trauma, nutritional imbalances, environmental factors, and subconscious beliefs contribute to illness. It’s not about handing out prescriptions — it’s about guiding each patient back to wholeness.
Christeil Gota
Christeil Gota added her voice to the conversation, sharing her own journey under Dr. Speller’s care. As a wellness advocate, Christeil knew what it meant to seek balance. But it wasn’t until she started working with Dr. Speller that she felt truly seen — not just as a set of symptoms, but as a whole person.
For Liza Boubari, whose own work focuses on subconscious transformation and emotional healing, this was a powerful alignment. Together, the three women revealed what happens when conventional expertise meets compassionate, root-focused care: real healing begins.
This episode wasn’t just informative — it was a reflection of what medicine can become when it honors both science and spirit.
