Bullying Examples
- Spreading rumors (including cyber-bullying)
- Excluding people from a “group.”
- Punching, shoving, and other acts that cause physical harm
- Relentless Teasing
- Getting certain people to “gang up” on others
As a result, those involved may experience the following:
- Poor academic performance and school failure
- Mental and psychological health issues (e.g. depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, & behavioral problems)
- Poor peer relationships
According to the CDC, “Bullying is a form of youth violence. CDC defines it as any unwanted aggressive behavior(s) by another youth or group of youths who are not siblings or current dating partners that involves an observed or perceived power imbalance and is repeated multiple times or is highly likely to be repeated. It may inflict harm or distress on the targeted youth, including physical, psychological, social, or educational harm.”
